Dr. Charanduk is a Calgary general dentist who is very active as a student and an educator; he routinely spends 150-200 hours a year attending continuing dental education courses. He is an active member of numerous local, national, and international dental organizations. He believes that the day a person stops being a student of their work, they should find something else to do.
His family and restorative dental practice focused on providing relationship-based, customized dental care designed to fulfill each patient’s needs and desires. Following a comprehensive examination process, an individualized treatment plan is formulated for every patient, including children and adults. Cosmetic, complex restorative, implant, TMJ, and denture treatment are his areas of particular interest.
Dr. Charanduk was born and raised in a small town, Saskatchewan farming community, the eldest son of a grain farmer. Following high school graduation, he moved to Saskatoon to attend University, graduating from dental school in 1986, after which he moved to Calgary to start practicing. Dr. Charanduk has been married since 1988 to his wife, Carol. They have two grown sons with whom they enjoy many activities. As a family, they have travelled worldwide, partaking in many adventures, including a safari in Africa, cycling in Spain, scuba diving in the Philippines and elephant riding in Thailand.
One of the most impactful trips they did as a family was visiting a leprosy colony in Vietnam that Dr. Charanduk and his wife helped to support. Dr. Charanduk has many other varied interests, including volunteering at his church, competitive cycling (he has on two occasions competed in a week-long stage race, sort of like doing a week of the Tour de France ), skiing, and running.
